How to Install the Muse App on iPhone When It Is Not in Your Country (2026 Guide)

You search the App Store for Muse and it simply is not there. That is not a bug. The App Store only shows apps released in your Apple ID region, and the Muse iPhone app launched in the US first, with Canada added later. If your Apple ID is set anywhere else, the app is invisible to you.

This guide shows the clean way to get it: a second Apple ID set to the United States, used only for the App Store, with no US credit card and no changes to your main account. Then the one VPN step that makes the app actually open and work.

1. Why you should not change your main Apple ID

Changing your existing Apple ID region is the painful route.

Apple blocks the switch until your account is in a clean state. Before the region option even appears, you must spend your Apple ID balance down to zero, cancel every subscription including Apple Music and iCloud+, leave any Family Sharing group, and provide a payment method issued in the new country with a matching billing address. Some people see a None option for payment, but it is not guaranteed.

Apple itself recommends a different path when you do not want to add a payment method: create a new Apple ID instead of changing your existing one. That is exactly what this guide does.

2. Create a second Apple ID set to the US

This ID is only for the App Store. Your main ID stays untouched.

On your iPhone, open the App Store and sign out of your current Apple ID if you are signed in there.
Start creating a new Apple ID and set its country or region to United States.
When you reach the payment step, choose None. No US credit card needed.
Use any valid email address you control and verify it.
Finish setup. You now have a US App Store identity that is fully separate from your main account.

You do not need a US phone number for this. The region setting is what unlocks the US App Store, not your SIM card.

3. Use the new ID for the App Store only

Your iCloud, photos, and subscriptions never move.

On your iPhone, go to Settings, tap your name, then Media and Purchases. Sign out there and sign back in with your new US Apple ID. This changes only the store your App Store uses. Everything else on the phone stays signed into your main Apple ID.

Now open the App Store. It should show the US storefront. Search for Muse and install it like any other app.

4. Turn on your VPN before you open it

The US App Store gets you the download. The VPN gets you the service.

Muse still checks your location when you sign in and use it, the same region check that gates the website. So before you open the app for the first time, connect a VPN on your iPhone set to the United States. Any VPN works as long as the server is in the US. If one server fails, switch to another US server, since free VPN servers sometimes land on blocklists.

5. If it does not work

The App Store still shows your local store. Make sure you signed the new ID into Media and Purchases specifically, not just iCloud. Sign out and back in, then reopen the App Store.
There is no None option for payment. This happens when the account has active subscriptions or a balance. A brand new ID with nothing on it should offer None. Start over with a fresh ID if needed.
The app installs but will not sign you in. Your VPN is probably off or on a flagged server. Connect to the US, try a different server, then reopen the app.
Updates ask for the US Apple ID password. Normal. Apps stay tied to the ID that installed them, so keep the US ID credentials saved somewhere safe.
