1. The short answer
On September 29, 2026 Meta launched Muse for Small Business with a Shopify connector, one of 15 new business app connectors. Connect your store and Muse can read your sales, spot what is stalling, draft campaigns in your brand voice, and keep an eye on customers who need attention. It never publishes anything, messages customers, or spends money without your approval. Right now the business connectors are available in the US and Canada, where Muse launched.
Here is the honest version of what that means. Your Shopify dashboard tells you what happened. Muse tells you what to do about it this week, in plain words, and drafts the actual work: the recap, the posts, the emails, the follow ups. You read, you decide, you approve. The rest of this guide covers the frustrations store owners actually hit, the weekly loop that answers them, what to connect first, and what to watch for while the connectors are new.

2. What you need
- Muse access. You need an account with access first.
- Your Shopify store. Connected through Muse's connectors. This is the data everything else runs on.
- Your social and ad accounts. Instagram professional account, Facebook Page, and Meta ad account if you run ads. Store plus audience plus ads is the core loop.
- Your brand in words. What you sell, your price range, how you sound, and the questions customers ask most. Write this down once, in one message to Muse. One good briefing beats ten corrections later.
- Approvals kept strict. Anything customer facing or money related stays on ask me. Set this on day one and the safety worry disappears.
3. The method, step by step
Start with the frustrations this loop is built for. You open Shopify, see a wall of numbers, and have no idea which lever to pull this week. A product that sold well for months quietly stalls and you notice only when revenue dips. You run Meta ads but cannot say which ones actually drove sales and which just burned money. Customers ask the same five questions and you answer them one by one, every day. Your product descriptions and marketing emails read like placeholders because writing them never reaches the top of the list. And underneath it all, the fear that an AI tool might publish something wrong, message a customer badly, or change a price without asking.
Each step below answers one of those directly. Run the full loop once a week and it becomes the operating rhythm of the store.
- Connect the store. In Muse, connect Shopify. Add your Instagram professional account, Facebook Page, and Meta ad account too if you have them. Handle the fear first: set approvals to ask me for anything customer facing or money related. Muse can read everything and change nothing without your tap.
- Teach it your business. Tell Muse what you sell, your price range, your brand voice, and the questions customers ask most. If shoppers keep asking about sizing, shipping times, or your return policy, say so now. Those answers become the raw material for better product pages and draft replies later.
- Give it a goal, not just a question. Ask for an outcome like grow repeat purchases this month, not just what are my sales. A goal lets Muse connect dots across your tools. It can see that your best ad sends traffic to a product page with a weak description, and tell you which fix matters most instead of listing numbers.
- Run the weekly loop. Every Monday, ask for the sales recap: what sold, what stalled, which ads earned their spend, and a draft of next week's posts and emails built on what actually worked. This is the lever pulling session. You read it, you decide, you approve the drafts worth using.
- Let it watch customers. Ask Muse to flag repeat buyers going quiet, support threads that look unanswered, and bestsellers running low on stock. It drafts the follow ups and the win back messages in your voice. Every one waits for your approval before it goes out.
- Close the loop. The next Monday, ask what the approved drafts did. Over a few weeks Muse stops giving generic advice and starts reasoning from your store's own numbers. That is when the loop gets genuinely valuable.

You are helping me run my Shopify store. First, here is how we work together. Connectors to use: connect my Shopify store, my Instagram professional account, my Facebook Page, and my Meta ad account. If I have Klaviyo or Canva connected, use those too. My business: [what I sell, my price range, who buys from me] My brand voice: [describe how I sound in a few words, e.g. warm, playful, premium, blunt] Rules: you never publish a product, post, or ad, message a customer, change a price, or spend money without my explicit approval. You research, analyze, draft, and shortlist. I approve everything. Now do this in order. 1. Read my last 30 days of Shopify sales. Tell me what sold best, what stalled, and which products had the most abandoned carts. 2. Compare with my Meta ad account: which ads drove the sales, and which ones burned money with little to show. 3. Flag anything that needs my attention: repeat buyers who went quiet, support threads that look unanswered, bestsellers running low. 4. Draft next week in my brand voice: 3 Instagram posts and 2 emails built on what actually sold. Show me the drafts. Do not post or send anything. 5. End with the 3 moves that would matter most this week, in order of impact.
4. What to connect first
Shopify plus Instagram professional analytics plus your Meta ad account is the core loop: store, audience, ads. Together they answer the three questions that run your week: what sold, who cared, and what the ads did about it.
Add Klaviyo if email drives your revenue. Abandoned carts and post purchase emails are where many stores quietly lose money, and Muse can read that data and draft the recovery emails for your approval. Add Canva if you want creative drafts to arrive on brand instead of as plain text.
You do not need all 15 connectors on day one. A candle shop that sells mostly through Instagram needs a different stack than a parts supplier that lives on email. Start with the three that touch money and customers, then add the rest as your actual week reveals uses for them. Custom connectors exist if a tool you rely on is not on Meta's list yet.
5. What to watch for
The connectors launched on September 29, 2026, so expect rough edges in the first weeks. Check Muse's reads against your Shopify dashboard before acting on them, especially any number that surprises you. A wrong read acted on fast is worse than a slow read you verified.
Muse reasons from the data you connect. A messy catalog or tangled discount codes will give you messy answers, so a quick cleanup of product titles and tags pays off fast. You do not need a perfect catalog. Tidying your top twenty products covers most of the value.
Keep anything customer facing on manual approval until you trust the loop. The failure mode you want is a draft waiting for you, not a message already sent. And remember this is US and Canada only for now. Everywhere else, the waitlist is the way in.

Frequently asked questions
- Is Muse for Small Business a separate app?
- No. It is the same Muse agent with business connectors and skills added. It is available in the US and Canada, where Muse launched on September 8, 2026.
- Does it cost extra?
- Muse is free with usage limits, and Meta offers paid plans for heavier use. Meta has not published the plan prices in the announcement.
- Can Muse change my prices or publish products on its own?
- No. Meta says nothing is published, sent, or spent without your approval. Price changes and product publishes wait for your tap.
- What if I do not use Shopify?
- The launch includes 14 other connectors, including QuickBooks, Stripe, Slack, Notion, and Canva, plus Instagram and Facebook business accounts. You can also build custom connectors.
- Can Muse answer customer support messages for me?
- It can draft replies in your voice, including answers to the questions you told it customers ask most. Every reply waits for your approval before it goes out. For anything heated or complicated, treat the draft as a starting point and write it yourself.
- My catalog is a mess. Do I need to clean it before connecting?
- No. Connect first and let Muse show you where the mess hurts: duplicate titles, missing tags, dead variants. Then clean the products that drive most of your revenue first. A tidy top twenty beats a perfect catalog you never finish.
- I do not run Meta ads. Is this still useful?
- Yes. The sales recap, stall alerts, customer flags, and draft content all work on store plus Instagram alone. Connect the ad account later if you start spending.
- How much of my week does the loop take?
- The reading is quick. Plan one focused session to review the Monday recap and approve drafts, plus a few minutes when a flag comes in during the week. The decisions are the work, not the reading.
- I am outside the US and Canada. What now?
- Muse has not launched in your country yet. Join the waitlist and we will send you a fresh code on launch day.
